Nose: Crisp, clean and unmistakably Lagavulin. Aromas of sea spray, kiln smoke and charred oak intertwine with bright citrus, smoked vanilla and hints of oyster shell and iodine.
Palate: Explosive and energetic. Waves of peat smoke, sweet malt, peppery heat and lemon zest surge across the palate. Notes of smoked barley, brine, white pepper and herbal undertones emerge with time, supported by a backbone of clean American oak.
Finish: Long, powerful and deeply smoky. Lingering flavours of bonfire embers, sea salt, warm spice and a subtle sweetness create a bold and memorable conclusion.
About the Distillery:
Founded officially in 1816 on the windswept shores of Lagavulin Bay, Lagavulin Distillery is one of Islay’s most revered and influential producers of peated single malt whisky. Its dramatic coastal setting, long fermentation times and exceptionally slow distillation contribute to a spirit of remarkable depth, combining profound peat smoke with layers of maritime salinity, dried fruits and polished oak. Known for its rich, oily texture and unmistakable flavour profile, Lagavulin has earned an iconic status among enthusiasts worldwide. Whether enjoyed through its celebrated core range or sought-after limited releases, Lagavulin continues to stand as a benchmark of Islay craftsmanship, tradition and smoky whisky excellence.
