Tasting Notes:

Nose: Bright maritime peat layered with dark fruit sweetness from the PX cask. Notes of lemon zest, smoked barley, dried figs and warm oak, lifted by subtle vanilla and sea spray.

Palate: Intensely full-bodied at cask strength. Waves of coastal smoke, grilled citrus, raisins and chocolate-dipped dates. A rich interplay of salted caramel, malty sweetness and earthy peat builds alongside warm spice and toasted oak.

Finish: Long, smoky and indulgent. Lingering notes of smouldering driftwood, sherry richness, peppered oak and citrus oil create a powerful yet refined coastal finish.

About the Distillery:

Torabhaig Distillery, located on the Isle of Skye and established in 2017, is only the second licensed malt whisky distillery on the island. Built within a restored 19th-century farm steading, the distillery combines traditional methods with a rigorous focus on peat, smoke and structure, seeking to define a distinctive “well-tempered peat” style. Using long fermentations, copper pot stills and slow distillation, Torabhaig produces a robust yet refined spirit shaped by Skye’s maritime climate. Early releases have quickly earned acclaim, marking the distillery as one of the most exciting new voices in contemporary Scotch whisky.
