TORABHAIG Sound of Sleat Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70cl 46%
Torabhaig Sound of Sleat is a defining expression in the distillery’s Legacy Series, named after the dramatic strait that separates the Isle of Skye from the Scottish mainland. This release showcases the distillery’s signature style of “well-tempered peat” — a bold yet beautifully balanced smoke character that harmonises with bright fruit notes, malt sweetness and maritime freshness. Bottled at 46%, unchill-filtered and natural in colour, Sound of Sleat presents a refined and approachable introduction to the growing character of Skye’s newest distillery. Structured, coastal and subtly smoky, it captures the rugged spirit of the island with clarity and finesse.

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Gentle maritime peat smoke with notes of citrus zest, pear and sweet malt. Hints of vanilla pod, sea breeze, fresh herbs and charred oak add depth.
Palate: Balanced and softly smoky. Flavours of lemon oil, malted barley, light honey and coastal salt mingle with earthy peat and peppered oak. A clean, oily texture carries the flavour gracefully across the palate.
Finish: Long, fresh and lightly smoky. Lingering notes of citrus, warm spice, smouldering peat embers and maritime minerality fade slowly, leaving a bright coastal impression.
About the Distillery:
Torabhaig Distillery, established in 2017 on the Isle of Skye, is only the second licensed single malt distillery in the island’s history. Built within a restored 19th-century farm steading, the distillery combines traditional methods with a focus on precision, structure and peat character, aiming to create a unique style known as “well-tempered peat.” Long fermentation, copper pot distillation and the island’s rugged maritime climate contribute to a robust yet elegant spirit. Early releases have earned wide acclaim, marking Torabhaig as one of the most exciting and promising new distilleries in Scotland.
