Kilchoman Rockside 11 Year Old is Islay’s only Single Farm Single Malt, created entirely at Rockside Farm on the island’s north-west coast. The barley was grown on the farm more than a decade ago before being malted, peated, distilled, matured and bottled on-site at Kilchoman Distillery, giving this whisky complete Islay provenance from grain to glass. Lightly peated to 20ppm and matured for 11 years in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, Rockside offers a delicate balance of maritime smoke, tropical fruit, citrus sweetness and warming spice. Bottled at 46%, non chill-filtered and with natural colour, it is a mature and beautifully balanced expression of Kilchoman’s traditional farm distillery approach.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Bright aromas of orange and fresh lemon peel are joined by fragrant elderflower and honeyed sweetness. Gentle maritime smoke brings a distinctly coastal character while remaining delicate and beautifully integrated.

Palate: Vibrant citrus and ripe tropical fruits develop alongside barley sugars, toffee apple and salted caramel. A subtle layer of peat smoke runs beneath the sweetness, adding balance and depth without overwhelming the fruit-led character.

Finish: Smooth and lingering, with butterscotch, walnuts and juicy citrus complemented by ripe stone fruits and a final trace of gentle maritime smoke.

Founded in 2005, Kilchoman Distillery is an independent, family-owned farm distillery located on the west coast of Islay. Uniquely, Kilchoman grows a portion of its own barley, malts it on traditional floor maltings and carries out every stage of production on site, from mash to bottling.
