Tasting Notes:

Nose: Bright citrus and coastal smoke up front, with lemon zest, grilled pineapple and sea spray. Underneath sit notes of vanilla fudge, warm malt, bonfire embers and a hint of salted caramel.

Palate: Full-bodied and lively at 57%. Waves of peat smoke, charred oak and sea salt are balanced by sweet barley, toffee apple, candied lemon peel and a touch of honeyed apricot. The texture is oily and mouth-coating, with peppery spice and earthy smoke building in intensity.

Finish: Long, warming and smoky. Lingering notes of citrus oil, smouldering peat, cracked black pepper and maritime salinity, with a final echo of vanilla and charred oak.

About the Distillery:

Founded in 2005, Kilchoman Distillery is an independent, family-owned farm distillery located on the west coast of Islay. Uniquely, Kilchoman grows a portion of its own barley, malts it on traditional floor maltings and carries out every stage of production on site, from mash to bottling. The celebrated “100% Islay” releases use only barley grown on the farm, showcasing a true grain-to-glass Islay whisky with full island provenance.
