Tasting Notes:

Nose: Rich and fruit-forward with aromas of ripe raspberries, blackberries and red cherries alongside vanilla, sweet malt and dark chocolate. Notes of redcurrant, gentle oak and warming spice develop with time in the glass.

Palate: Full-bodied and vibrant at cask strength. Juicy red berries, black cherry and ripe plum mingle with caramel, cocoa and sweet malt. Layers of cinnamon, black pepper and toasted oak provide structure, while the unpeated spirit allows the rich fruit character of the Bordeaux cask to shine.

Finish: Long, fruity and warming, with lingering dark berries, chocolate and sweet spice followed by gently drying oak and a touch of vanilla.

Opened in 2017, Isle of Raasay Distillery is located on the small Hebridean island of Raasay, overlooking the Isle of Skye. The distillery produces both peated and unpeated spirit and has developed a distinctive maturation programme using a diverse selection of carefully chosen casks.

The Na Sia, meaning “The Six” in Gaelic, represents the six signature cask combinations at the heart of the distillery’s approach to maturation. By releasing these components individually as single cask bottlings, the Na Sia series provides a fascinating opportunity to explore how different casks interact with Raasay’s spirit and contribute to the character of its signature single malt.
