Tasting Notes:

Nose: Aromatic peat smoke combines with ripe blackberries, redcurrants and dark cherries, followed by hints of vanilla, sweet malt and warming spice. Subtle maritime notes and earthy smoke provide an elegant counterpoint to the rich red-fruit character.

Palate: Powerful and full-bodied, with juicy dark berries, black cherry and red plum layered over sweet malt and warming peat smoke. Notes of dark chocolate, black pepper and gentle oak spice develop alongside a subtle coastal minerality.

Finish: Long and warming, with lingering red fruits, earthy peat smoke and dark chocolate accompanied by peppery spice and gently drying oak.

Opened in 2017, Isle of Raasay Distillery is located on the small Hebridean island of Raasay, overlooking the Isle of Skye. The distillery produces both peated and unpeated spirit and has developed a distinctive maturation programme using a diverse selection of cask types.

The Na Sia, meaning "The Six" in Gaelic, represents the six signature cask styles at the heart of the distillery's approach to maturation. By bottling these components individually as single cask releases, the series offers an opportunity to explore how different casks interact with Raasay's peated and unpeated spirit, revealing the individual building blocks behind the distillery's signature single malt.
