The Sinteis Series Part 4 continues GlenAllachie’s exploration of distinctive oak types and their interaction with the distillery’s rich Speyside spirit. Distilled in 2015 and bottled in 2026, this limited-edition release brings together the unusual influence of Mongolian virgin oak with the deep, fruit-rich character of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso Sherry casks. Bottled at a strong 58.5% cask strength, without chill-filtration and at natural colour, it promises an intensely flavoured combination of dark fruits, rich sweetness, warming spice and complex oak.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Rich and aromatic with waves of dark cherries, raisins and sticky dates layered with heather honey and treacle. Dark chocolate and orange peel develop alongside toasted nuts, cinnamon and warming exotic oak spices.

Palate: Full-bodied and powerful, with lashings of dark fruit, fig syrup and chocolate-covered raisins complemented by caramelised orange and rich honey. The Sherry casks bring depth and sweetness, while the Mongolian virgin oak contributes layers of toasted spice, vanilla, nutmeg and warming oak.

Finish: Long, rich and warming, with lingering dark chocolate, dried fruits and sweet spice followed by orange zest, toasted oak and a gently drying spicy character.

About the Distillery:

GlenAllachie Distillery is one of Scotland's few independently owned and managed distilleries, led by renowned Master Distiller Billy Walker, whose career in the Scotch whisky industry spans more than five decades. Located in the heart of Speyside at the foot of Ben Rinnes, GlenAllachie was acquired by Walker and his business partners in 2017 along with extensive stocks of maturing whisky.

Under independent ownership, production has been deliberately reduced to allow a greater focus on spirit quality, including exceptionally long fermentation times of up to 160 hours. Particular emphasis is placed on wood management, with an extensive range of carefully sourced casks from around the world used to shape the distillery's distinctive single malts. Additional traditional dunnage warehousing has also been introduced on site, giving the team greater control over maturation and allowing releases such as the Sinteis Series to showcase the interaction between GlenAllachie's spirit and unusual cask types.
