THE BALVENIE Stories The Sweet Toast of American Oak 12 Year Old Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70cl 43%

Part of The Balvenie Stories collection, The Sweet Toast of American Oak celebrates the creativity and craftsmanship of Balvenie’s woodworking and whisky-making teams. This 12-year-old expression is inspired by an experiment undertaken by Apprentice Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie, who sourced virgin American oak casks from Kelvin Cooperage in Kentucky. These casks were deeply toasted before being filled with Balvenie whisky matured in ex-bourbon barrels.

The result is a vibrant, sweet and wonderfully expressive Speyside single malt bursting with flavours of honey, vanilla, citrus and warm oak spice. Bottled at 43%, this release highlights both the classic Balvenie character and the innovative spirit behind the Stories range.

About the Distillery:

Founded in 1892 by William Grant in Dufftown, Balvenie Distillery is renowned for its dedication to traditional craftsmanship, maintaining practices that are now rare in the Scotch whisky industry. The distillery grows a portion of its own barley, operates traditional floor maltings, employs a team of in-house coopers and houses its own coppersmiths — ensuring quality and character at every stage of production. Balvenie whiskies are celebrated for their rich, honeyed sweetness, elegant spice and gentle complexity, with a focus on craftsmanship that makes the distillery one of Speyside’s most respected and beloved names.
