Tasting Notes:

Nose: Powerful yet beautifully balanced, opening with fragrant peat smoke, sea spray and charred oak. Layers of honeycomb, ripe peaches, orange zest and vanilla cream are complemented by toasted almonds, dried figs and gentle baking spices.

Palate: Rich, oily and intensely flavourful. Sweet malt, salted caramel and dark toffee combine with smoked citrus, ripe orchard fruits and warming cinnamon. Waves of earthy peat, maritime salinity and cracked black pepper build gradually, while Oloroso casks contribute notes of raisins, dark chocolate and roasted nuts.

Finish: Exceptionally long and warming. Lingering peat embers, salted toffee, cocoa and dried fruits are joined by gentle oak spice and a fresh coastal salinity, leaving a powerful yet elegantly balanced finish.

Founded in 2018, Ardnahoe Distillery is one of Islay's newest whisky distilleries and is owned by the independent family company Hunter Laing & Co. Situated on the island's rugged north-east coast overlooking the Sound of Islay, Ardnahoe combines traditional craftsmanship with modern precision to produce a classic peated Islay single malt. The distillery features exceptionally long fermentation times, traditional worm tub condensers and two of Scotland's longest lyne arms, creating a rich, fruity new make spirit that perfectly complements the island's signature peat smoke. Matured on Islay and bottled without chill-filtration or added colouring, Ardnahoe's whiskies reflect the island's rugged maritime character while establishing a distinctive house style built on balance, elegance and complexity.
