These casks bestow juicy red berries, florals and gentle spice on Aberfeldy’s signature honeyed malt, creating a rich yet approachable dram bottled at 43%.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Brimming with fragrant notes of raspberry jam and Parma violets, with soft honey, vanilla and gentle red berry sweetness.

Palate: Silky and fruity. Sweet raspberry jam and red berries lead, joined by Aberfeldy’s trademark honeyed malt, hints of summer fruits and a touch of creamy vanilla. Dustings of cinnamon and subtle oak spice develop, along with an alluring note of freshly ground coffee beans.

Finish: Medium-long with lingering red fruits, honey, gentle baking spice and a soft coffee-and-cocoa warmth.

About the Distillery:

Aberfeldy Distillery was built by John Dewar & Sons in 1896 on the outskirts of the town of Aberfeldy in Perthshire, drawing its water from the nearby Pitilie Burn, famed for its deposits of alluvial gold. Originally created as the heart of Dewar’s blended Scotch, Aberfeldy has since earned a strong reputation as a single malt in its own right. Known as “The Golden Dram”, Aberfeldy is celebrated for its honeyed, fruit-forward character, typically developed through maturation in a variety of cask types that bring notes of orange, honey, vanilla and gentle spice, with a soft, approachable profile that still offers plenty of Highland character.
