TORABHAIG Cnoc Na Moine Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70cl 46%
Torabhaig Cnoc Na Moine marks a confident evolution in the distillery’s Legacy Series, introducing a richer, darker style shaped by the influence of sherry and wine cask maturation. Named after the nearby hill “Cnoc na Moine” — Gaelic for Hill of Peat — this release reflects the rugged landscape and deep peaty heritage of the Isle of Skye. The spirit’s signature “well-tempered peat” character is beautifully balanced by layers of dried fruit, warm spice and coastal minerality. Bottled at 46%, non chill-filtered and natural in colour, Cnoc Na Moine represents a bold, expressive step forward for Torabhaig Distillery.

Region: Island (Isle of Skye)

Tasting Notes:
Nose: A fusion of maritime peat smoke, dried fruits and dark cherry. Notes of charred oak, leather, cocoa and warm spice are lifted by coastal salinity and hints of heather honey.
Palate: Rich and smoky with layers of raisins, toffee, roasted nuts and dark berries. Earthy peat and charred driftwood integrate with sweet malt, clove, citrus oil and a subtle wine-cask fruitiness, carried by an oily, structured mouthfeel.
Finish: Long, smoky and warming. Lingering notes of embers, dried fruit, peppered oak and salted caramel fade slowly, revealing Torabhaig’s deep, well-rounded coastal character.
About the Distillery:
Torabhaig Distillery, established in 2017 on the Isle of Skye, is only the second licensed single malt distillery in the island’s history. Built within a restored 19th-century farm steading, the distillery combines traditional methods with a focus on precision, structure and peat character, aiming to create a unique style known as “well-tempered peat.” Long fermentation, copper pot distillation and the island’s rugged maritime climate contribute to a robust yet elegant spirit. Early releases have earned wide acclaim, marking Torabhaig as one of the most exciting and promising new distilleries in Scotland.
