Tasting Notes:

Nose: Aromatic peat smoke and coastal sea air are joined by ripe apricots, golden raisins and honeycomb. Notes of lemon peel, vanilla cream and warm baking spices develop alongside gentle oak and a touch of dried floral sweetness.

Palate: Powerful and full-bodied at cask strength. Sweet stone fruits, candied citrus and Tokaj-like honeyed richness unfold over smoked malt, sea salt and earthy peat. Layers of sultanas, vanilla fudge, toasted oak and gentle pepper spice add depth and structure.

Finish: Long, warming and richly textured. Lingering notes of smoked honey, dried apricots, citrus oil and maritime salinity gradually fade into soft peat embers and sweet oak spice.

About the Distillery:

Torabhaig Distillery, located on the Isle of Skye and established in 2017, is only the second licensed malt whisky distillery on the island. Built within a restored 19th-century farm steading, the distillery combines traditional methods with a rigorous focus on peat, smoke and structure, seeking to define a distinctive “well-tempered peat” style. Using long fermentations, copper pot stills and slow distillation, Torabhaig produces a robust yet refined spirit shaped by Skye’s maritime climate. Early releases have quickly earned acclaim, marking the distillery as one of the most exciting new voices in contemporary Scotch whisky.
