Kilchoman Sanaig is the richer, sherried partner to Machir Bay, named after an inlet on Islay’s rugged Atlantic coastline. This expression is a vatting of whisky matured in both sherry and bourbon casks, with a high proportion of Oloroso sherry casks adding deep layers of dried fruits, spice and dark sweetness. Bottled at 46%, non chill-filtered and natural in colour, Sanaig offers a generous balance of Kilchoman’s classic citrus brightness and peat smoke, wrapped in plush sherry richness for a rounded, flavoursome Islay dram.

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Fragrant heather, raisins, pear and orange peel with waves of stone fruits, mixed spices and rich peat smoke.
Palate: Overripe plums, red cherries and hints of citrus give way to rich barbecue peat smoke, toffee, oak and dark chocolate.
Finish: Mouth-coating mixed fruit, caramel, cinnamon and clove with layers of brown sugar, spices, peat smoke and lasting sweetness.
About the Distillery:
Founded in 2005, Kilchoman Distillery is an independent, family-owned farm distillery located on the west coast of Islay. Uniquely, Kilchoman grows a portion of its own barley, malts it on traditional floor maltings and carries out every stage of production on site, from mash to bottling. The celebrated “100% Islay” releases use only barley grown on the farm, showcasing a true grain-to-glass Islay whisky with full island provenance.
