About Blanton's:

Blanton's is the world’s first single barrel bourbon. In 1984 The Master Distiller of Buffalo Trace Distillery, Elmer T Lee remembered the earlier days of his career in the late 1940s when he worked under Col. Albert B. Blanton. Col. Blanton was the president of the George T. Stagg Distillery until 1952. Elmer remembered that Col. Blanton had a private stash of barrels in warehouse H that he would hand pick from. Col. Blanton used these barrels to entertain dignitaries and other important guests. As a tribute to Col. Blanton, Elmer decided to name this new bourbon “Blanton’s Single Barrel”.
